Position & Placement
Your gear should sit where it feels comfortable and creates the
position or profile you want. Placement may take some adjustment,
especially when trying a new product, garment, or attachment method.
Security & Stability
A packer or STP should feel secure enough for the way you plan to
use it. If it shifts, rotates, drops too low, or needs constant
adjustment, you may need to change the position, garment, harness,
attachment method, or product.
Comfort & Movement
Check how your gear feels when you sit, walk, bend, exercise, and
move through your day. Pressure, rubbing, excess heat, pulling,
or restricted movement can be signs that something needs adjusting.
Silhouette & Function
Look at whether the final position works for your clothing and
appearance goals and, if your gear has another function such as
STP use, whether you can use that function comfortably and reliably.
